Team Pohutsky Honored by Fundraising Support
Livonia — When Representative Pohutsky decided to run for re-election, it was clear that it would be a battleground district to protect. Despite the challenge of corporate and Republican PAC dollars, Livonia deserves a leader who represents the actual voters who trust in her to make sure education works for all and will protect the right of everyone to live the life they choose. This State House seat is vital to ensuring that Livonians and Michiganders have the voice they need at the Capitol to overcome the negative effects that over a decade of Republican leadership in Lansing has created. Livonians, Michiganders and folks from all over our country took notice of this importance and helped Laurie raise over $85,000 this filing period, with over 500 individual donations.
“I’m blown away by the support this campaign has received. People understand the importance and urgency of making sure that a scientist who values evidence-based policy remains in office.” Said Representative Pohutsky “I’m committed to making sure I work as hard as I possibly can so that I can continue to serve the people of the Nineteenth District.”
This campaign still has a lot of work to do. For the health and safety of our voters, Team Pohutsky is finding new ways to run a campaign. We’ve been lucky enough to have a dedicated and robust volunteer team make over 40,000 calls to voters in our district, we have neighbors already showing their support with a yard sign, and of course, over 500 donors with an average donation of less than $50. Representative Pohutsky’s platform and goals for Livonia and Michigan has also garnered the support of groups including Sierra Club, Sister District, Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters, UAW, and Moms Demand Action.
While it is not clear yet who the Republicans will nominate to run against Rep. Pohustky, it is certain that with the continued support Team Pohutsky has already received, Laurie isn’t going anywhere.
